In the face of its less than warm weather, London is still ranked as one of the most popular tourist destinations on Earth.

It may not be listed as one of the top 10 popular honeymoon places or have any site to show up on the list of top 10 wonders of the world, London still puts together a great collection of tourist attractions to be considered a city that is visited by millions of people annually.

Having mentioned the above with the hosting the London 2012 Summer Olympics games we would like to publish a list of top 10 places to see in London.

 

Natural History Museum of London

This museum exhibits the important role of various natural species on planet earth. Having over 70 million pieces to show for, the Natural History Museum of London puts together a wonderful display of the very many spectacles of nature, the links and the magical connection of the world around us as a single unit. The museum also houses a delightful Dinosaurs gallery, which presents fossils of well-known extinct dinosaurs as well as showing the methods of how paleontologists are able to assemble the fossils of these great ancient creatures.

Energy London Eye

The London Eye or the EDF Energy London Eye (also known as Millennium Wheel) is a Ferris wheel that measures 135 meters tall and sits right over the riverbank of River Thames. With its height and a diameter of 120 meters, the Energy London Eye Ferris wheel that also house a 4D cinema has become quite a popular tourist hot spot in London. If you visit London, you should definitively take a ride on the London Eye and have a spectacular view London from above.

Number 8 position was a toss up between the Science Museum of London and Big Ben, but we have decided to ask the science lovers to park right here. The very many exhibits of Science Museum of London are interactive and enhanced with visuals and great sound effects and to make it even better, for the most part they are free to look at. However, there is a charge required for the Museum’s flight simulator, the IMAX cinema, as well as the space exhibit. The Science Museum of London is open daily for visitors and tourists except for the 24th and 26th of December.

Tower of London

London Madame Tussauds

This popular wax museum was established by a French wax sculptor named Marie Tussauds and today there are other branches of this museum around the world. Madam Tussauds in London is open daily (except Christmas day) from 9:30 to 5:30 during week days and extended hours are offered on the weekends and special holiday’s days.

Buckingham Palace

Situated in the City of Westminster, near London, Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch. The palace was built in 1705, which later became the Queen Palace in 1761, for Queen Charlotte. Presently, it is an art gallery (featuring the Royal Collection), a tourist hot spot and a national symbol for England. Buckingham Palace is open daily for all to visit with reasonable admission fees.
